About the position

The Production Test Trainee at Crane Aerospace & Electronics is responsible for performing various testing operations on products such as pumps, valves, and motors. This entry-level position involves working closely with engineering teams, ensuring product verification, and maintaining process control. The role requires attention to detail and the ability to work in a manufacturing environment, contributing to the company's commitment to operational excellence in the aerospace and defense sectors.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all operations necessary for the testing of the product.
  • Conduct commercial tests including set-up and running test equipment on various pumps, valves, motors, etc. per test procedures.
  • Collaborate with Engineering on the set-up of new production pumps and assist in testing development units.
  • Enter necessary data into electronic measuring equipment.
  • Make hoses as necessary and advise supervision of any measuring equipment in need of calibration.
  • Perform minor deburring work as required and clean/move parts as necessary.
  • Pass an annual eye exam and ensure product verification and process control using measuring devices.
  • Keep charts and records on completed sequences and processes.
  • Rotate to different workstations within the cell and perform required rework and secondary operations.
  • Document all non-conformances through specified data collection procedures.
  • Inspect work and verify that product meets all appropriate standards at each operational step in the cell.
  • Complete all required paperwork and ensure all material is properly cleaned, identified, protected, and stacked before movement.
  • Work with internal and external customers and suppliers and participate in continuous improvement activities as required.
  • Utilize the computer to access various databases.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Basic reading and writing skills are necessary.
  • Basic math skills for calculations such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, and percentages.
  • Adequate mechanical aptitude and ability to read and interpret blueprints, detail sheets, and test procedures.
  • Prior test experience preferred.
  • Must be a US Person under ITAR rules to be eligible.

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
