About the position

The Production Trainer at Panasonic Energy Corporation of North America is responsible for enhancing the skills and knowledge of the operational workforce in a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility. This role focuses on training employees in job instruction, safety, and continuous improvement methodologies, contributing to the overall efficiency and safety of operations. The trainer will design and lead advanced training programs, provide mentorship, and ensure compliance with safety regulations, all while fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates proficiency in equipment and system maintenance as required.
  • Conducts safety training sessions, imparting best practices, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
  • Facilitates high-performance culture trainings and employee orientation.
  • Serves as a role model, guiding adherence to SOPs and considering diverse learning styles.
  • Provides constructive feedback to employees, fostering continuous improvement and skill development.
  • Conducts hands-on training sessions to reinforce theoretical knowledge with practical skills.
  • Trains employees on efficient work methods and continuous improvement techniques.
  • Collaborates effectively with individuals at all levels to achieve training goals.
  • Designs and leads advanced training programs for production staff.
  • Provides strategic direction for the overall training framework, aligning it with organizational goals.
  • Issues certification for all Panasonic Energy production personnel and manages certification timelines.
  • Educates on A3 problem solving eight-step method within each department.
  • Collaborates with subject matter experts to develop comprehensive training curriculum.
  • Integrates industry best practices and emerging trends into training content.
  • Develops and implements assessment methods to evaluate training effectiveness.
  • Analyzes training outcomes and recommends improvements based on performance data.
  • Offers mentorship and coaching to departmental employees.
  • Facilitates skill-building sessions for trainers to enhance their delivery capabilities.
  • Leads initiatives to improve manufacturing processes through innovative training methods.
  • Creates comprehensive training materials and documentation for job instruction processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g. Human Resources, Training and Development) or equivalent work experience.
  • Over 5 years of extensive experience as a trainer, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of advanced manufacturing processes, leadership principles, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Adaptable to evolving technologies and dynamic manufacturing processes.
  • Robust understanding of operational processes and safety regulations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
  • Excellent evaluative assessment and training skills.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in Job Instruction and Job Safety.
  • Expertise in Training Within Industry (TWI).
  • Experience in developing and training Kaizen continuous improvement events.
