Production Worker

About the position

The Production Worker role at Canfor involves engaging in various tasks within a dynamic team environment at the Camden sawmill. This full-time, permanent position emphasizes safety, teamwork, and efficiency, providing opportunities for career advancement and recognition of hard work.

Responsibilities

• Rotate through various job responsibilities and tasks within your assigned workspace on an hourly basis.
• Shovel, lift, and carry boards and debris while contributing to the overall cleanliness of the site.
• Work collaboratively with team members to achieve production goals.
• Take responsibility for contributing to a safe work environment.

Requirements

• Ability to work in a safe and efficient manner in a fast-paced production environment.
• Ability to perform repetitive, manual tasks for extended periods, including piling lumber, standing for long hours, walking, shoveling, climbing stairs, bending, and lifting up to 50lbs.
• Ability to work in an environment with exposure to environmental elements, moving mechanical equipment, loud noise, and dust.
• Experience working in a manufacturing and/or industrial environment is a plus; knowledge of the lumber manufacturing process is an asset.
• Excellent teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with co-workers.
• High degree of urgency and attention to detail.
• Desire to learn, grow, and succeed.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience working in a manufacturing and/or industrial environment would be considered a plus.
• Knowledge of the lumber manufacturing process would be an asset.
