About the position

As the VRM Profee Assistant Director, you will be responsible for supporting the Vendor Resource Management (VRM) Director with day-to-day operations and the development and implementation of staffing/resource management for Physician Service Center (PSC) Profee coding services and Abstraction services, to include MIPS and Clinical Data Registry Abstraction (CDRA). You will develop, direct, and coordinate assigned Profee coding and Abstraction activities within the (VRM) team. You also actively monitor VRM employee performance and reward or discipline accordingly. You, along with the management team, work with the HIM, Coding, and Abstraction Team/Leadership, MIPS team and Physician Service Centers (PSC) leadership to improve the accuracy and quality of patient data and ensure adequate staffing to maintain timely production of work.

Responsibilities

  • Perform various assignments under the direction of the VRM Director.
  • Assist the Director in planning, developing, organizing, and implementing day-to-day operations.
  • Provide direct oversight to the VRM Profee and CDRA management team, including managers and leads.
  • Ensure complete, accurate, timely and consistent work, while adhering to published coding/abstraction guidelines and Parallon policies and procedures.
  • Coach and help develop managers and team members.
  • Proactively identify and manage significant issues in workflow (including corresponding communications and escalation paths), status of projects, barriers and successes.
  • Facilitate problem-solving and collaboration with functional areas.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required, ideally in areas like HIM, Business Administration, IT, or Organizational/Change Management.
  • Minimum 3 years' health care management/leadership experience strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years HIM and/or Professional Fee coding experience strongly preferred.
  • Consulting or proven work experience in areas of process reengineering, shared services, project management, and/or managing a large resource pool strongly preferred.
  • RHIA, RHIT, AAPC or AHIMA professional credential required.
