About the position

The Professional Development and Recruiting Manager at Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP is responsible for providing strategic direction and administrative support to the partners in the San Francisco and Palo Alto offices. This role involves managing campus recruiting efforts, professional development programs, and onboarding processes, while collaborating with various teams to enhance associate retention and performance management. The position is integral to fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment that prioritizes professional growth.

Responsibilities

  • Manage campus recruiting efforts including law school outreach, on-campus interviews, callbacks, and the summer program.
  • Initiate and develop professional development programming for Bay Area associates.
  • Support firm management and operating committees on associate retention programs and performance management processes.
  • Manage and maintain personnel data for Bay Area attorneys.
  • Monitor local market trends and stay informed about current market conditions.
  • Track and confirm attorney compliance with California Bar admission rules.
  • Oversee the onboarding and integration of newly hired law clerks.
  • Collaborate with the Diversity & Inclusion Committee on office-specific initiatives.
  • Contribute to various other programs as needed.
  • Assist with HR staff personnel matters and events.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Four or more years' experience in professional services.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Knowledge of legal recruiting, associate development, and/or human resources.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively deal with all levels of personnel.
  • High accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to provide leadership and support for detailed and complex tasks.
  • Flexibility in managing multiple and changing priorities.
  • Strong professional and ethical standards; must observe confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in Outlook, MS Office Suite, and familiarity with Asana, viRecruit, or similar recruiting databases.
