About the position

The Professional E-Commerce Data Analyst will gather and interpret analytics in order to generate reports, monitor performance, and enhance the customer experience across all internal and external professional E-Commerce channels. This role requires a high degree of independence, as the analyst will analyze, understand, and interpret analytic data for multiple departments, making recommendations aimed at increasing system performance, improving customer experience, and driving earnings growth. In this position, the analyst will serve as the primary resource for Professional E-Commerce analytics, providing guidance and support to all departments within the company as needed. Utilizing tools such as Google Analytics 4, Microsoft Query, Excel, and Power Query, the analyst will extract, manipulate, and visualize data effectively. The role involves collecting, cleaning, and analyzing data from various E-Commerce channels to derive meaningful insights and develop regular reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) for stakeholders across the organization. The analyst will continuously monitor E-Commerce channels to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement, aiding in troubleshooting to determine whether issues are operational, procedural, data, or system-related. Feedback from various channels will be monitored and used to inform key initiatives for future product enhancements. Evaluating user behavior and feedback will be crucial for optimizing the customer journey and enhancing overall satisfaction. Additionally, the analyst will actively identify and document improvement areas across technology and processes that can help drive expense reduction, improve customer service, and enhance quality. Data insights will be used to make informed recommendations for improving system performance and customer experience. The analyst will work closely with technical and functional teams throughout the lifecycle of IT projects, providing quality business requirements and use cases, and developing documentation for both technical and functional audiences. Quality assurance testing, user acceptance testing, and the implementation and rollout of approved technical solutions will also be part of the responsibilities. The analyst will represent business interests, ensuring that all technical designs meet business needs, and will participate in meetings as a representative of Professional Sales, providing input to prioritize projects for maximum benefit to O'Reilly corporate and Professional Sales.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Strong automotive product, theory, repair, and parts cataloging knowledge.
  • Thorough understanding of computers and desktop applications including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Query, Google Analytics / GA4, and Power Query.
  • Strong organization, problem solving, and time management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • College or business school education with focus on business management and/or computer science.
  • 2 years of experience as a team member in an O'Reilly store.
  • Significant knowledge of First Call Online and the Electronic Parts Catalog.
  • Understanding of Structured Query Language (SQL) data extraction and analytics including ETL processes.
  • Multilingual in Spanish and/or French.
