The National Association of Safety Professionals (NASP) is seeking an experienced and dedicated Safety Trainer to join our dynamic team. We are not looking for just a good safety trainer; we are looking for a GREAT safety trainer. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, conducting, and implementing comprehensive safety training programs that meet the needs of our members and industry professionals. This position requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, particularly in conducting HAZWOPER/HAZMAT and/or Confined Space Entry training. Applicants must highlight this experience in their cover letter, as those without it will not be considered. A sample recording of a past training session is highly encouraged, and interviewees will be expected to provide a short presentation showcasing their training abilities. As a Safety Trainer and Consultant, you will instruct portions of our Certified Safety Manager (CSM) Course, HAZWOPER, and other Train-the-Trainer Courses. You will perform mock OSHA inspections, conduct environmental assessments, and develop written Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) plans and programs for clients. Leading site-specific training for clients across the United States, primarily focusing on HAZWOPER, Confined Space Entry, Lockout/Tagout, and other safety protocols, will be a key part of your responsibilities. You will also be tasked with developing, implementing, and continuously improving safety training programs and initiatives to meet the evolving needs of NASP members and industry professionals. Your role will involve conducting thorough assessments of training needs within various industries and organizations to tailor programs accordingly. You will create engaging and interactive training materials, including presentations, manuals, videos, and e-learning modules, and deliver training sessions to diverse audiences, including employees, supervisors, and management personnel. Additionally, you will provide guidance and support to members and clients regarding safety training requirements, resources, and solutions. Conducting training for open-enrollment classes throughout the U.S. for up to one week at a time, attending conferences and seminars for OHS professionals, and maintaining accurate training records to track attendance and completion rates will also be part of your duties.
