About the position

The Professional Service Technician is responsible for the maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of refrigeration, heating, and air-conditioning systems primarily used in supermarkets, convenience stores, and cold storage facilities. This role operates independently with minimal supervision, develops customer relations, and identifies potential sales opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance on supermarket refrigeration systems and temperature-controlled merchandisers.
• Match customer needs with potential sales opportunities.
• Manage truck inventory, including ordering, receiving, and billing parts.
• Maintain a clean vehicle and perform required maintenance on time.
• Complete necessary documentation and electronic communication accurately and timely.
• Utilize hand-held devices for paperwork and invoicing requirements.
• Check joints, install PVC drain pipes, and set and trim cases with minimal supervision.
• Install and adjust glass doors and frames, use temperature sensors and gauges, and locate refrigerant leaks.
• Identify pipe sizes and fittings, perform refrigerant and oil conversions, and electric weld various metals.
• Troubleshoot and size thermostatic expansion valves and understand pressure regulators.

Requirements

• High School/GED and completion/certification from an HVAC-R Technical School or 5 years of experience in HVAC or HVAC-R.
• Minimum of 5 years of commercial HVAC experience with a technical degree preferred.
• Valid Driver's License and safe driving record.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and detail-oriented.
• Ability to work nights and weekends as required.
• EPA Certification and EPA 608 Universal Certification.
