About the position

The Professional Services Veterinarian plays a crucial role in providing technical support for small animal products to the marketing and sales teams. This position focuses on the effective communication of scientific and clinical information, driving innovation, and supporting the commercial organization to achieve business results. The veterinarian will collaborate with various divisions to ensure accurate messaging and education regarding the company's product portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Support commercial and business needs of the company involving innovation and current product portfolio.
  • Provide technical expertise and education to effectively communicate product information to the commercial team.
  • Work with key team members to translate innovation science or updates in scientific literature and assist in the development of technical or marketing presentations/materials.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to meet expectations around effective communication and teamwork.
  • Support events/sponsorship opportunities at national tradeshows as needed.
  • Assist in claims development with key team members.
  • Provide technical expertise on the company portfolio of products as assigned.
  • Review medical messaging created by marketing to ensure accuracy.
  • Organize and deliver technical training sessions for internal and external groups as needed.
  • Stay updated on assigned veterinary products or topics through technical publications, conference attendance, and formal training.
  • Communicate effectively across departments and function in a team environment.
  • Regular attendance is required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent education required.
  • 2-5 years of experience in Veterinary Practice, with experience in the Veterinary Industry preferred.
  • Prior experience with marketing is desirable.
  • Practical experience to support relevant marketing efforts.
  • Competency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Self-motivation with the ability to work independently.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including oral presentations and writing.
  • Ability to work effectively in team environments and across departments, including the sales team.
  • Adept at working in highly fluid, complex, and ever-changing environments.
  • Exhibit willingness to accept and incorporate feedback.
