About the position

The Professional Services Veterinarian plays a crucial role in the Animal Health division by acting as a coach, leader, and advisor to both internal and external customers. This field-based position requires residing in the Illinois-Iowa region and focuses on delivering technical expertise, supporting sales strategies, and fostering relationships with key opinion leaders in veterinary medicine. The role emphasizes continuous learning and development within a supportive company culture.

Responsibilities

  • Function as an integral member of the Regional Leadership Team supporting territory managers.
  • Prepare and deliver technical lectures on the product line to key customers, strategic accounts, and professional veterinary organizations.
  • Offer solutions that align with customer needs and business priorities.
  • Partner with the Regional Sales Manager to develop and execute effective business strategies.
  • Meet with key opinion leaders in clinical and university settings to discuss the Animal Health portfolio and potential new business opportunities.
  • Represent the company at veterinary schools, associations, and conferences.
  • Serve as the region's technical expert, evaluating training needs of sales representatives and coaching them in technical selling skills.
  • Collaborate with R&D, Learning and Development, Marketing, Veterinary Insights & Medical Affairs, and Sales to achieve organizational priorities.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) degree.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in clinical companion animal veterinary practice.
  • Ability to translate complex issues into easily comprehensible content for various audiences.
  • Experience presenting to diverse audiences with different levels of medical knowledge.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Competency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Ability to work effectively with customers, both internal and external.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with companion animal vaccines, parasiticides, and therapeutics.
  • Applicable advanced degrees and research experience.
  • Experience delivering training or instruction within a structured organization.
  • Leadership and/or management experience.
