About the position

The Personal Shopper at Food City is responsible for efficiently processing online orders through the Curbside Pickup service, ensuring order accuracy and freshness while providing exceptional customer service. This role involves engaging with customers, managing various payment processes, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.

Responsibilities

  • Acknowledge, greet, and engage customers to share Curbside Pickup's value proposition.
  • Accurately and efficiently process online orders, including coordinating, shopping, packing, labeling, staging, and facilitating order pick-up.
  • Maintain accountability for the freshness and accuracy of every order.
  • Communicate timely and professionally with customers regarding their orders, including out of stock items and acceptable substitutions.
  • Build personal relationships with customers to understand their shopping preferences.
  • Maintain transaction and daily shift reports accurately.
  • Scan customer orders according to company policy and maintain accountability for transactions.
  • Keep the desk and staging areas clean and organized.
  • Assist customers with inquiries about Food City's website.
  • Communicate special needs and requests of customers to the Store Manager.
  • Become knowledgeable about Food City promotions to educate customers on savings opportunities and upsell when possible.
  • Follow Loss Prevention audit procedures and Professional Shopper protocols.
  • Adhere to state and local laws regarding beer, wine, and tobacco sales.
  • Follow federal and state laws regarding WIC handling and coupon procedures.
  • Ensure efficient and courteous customer service in support of the company mission.
  • Attend on-site work during scheduled shifts to comply with company time and attendance policies.

Requirements

  • Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on maintaining a customer-centric culture.
  • Ability to operate a cash register, point of sale (POS) system, and other necessary equipment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and interact with diverse customers.
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions and perform routine tasks.
