About the position

As a Professional Technical Writer at Gainwell, you will play a crucial role in creating and managing technical documentation that helps clients understand complex technical information in a simplified manner. Your work will involve researching, writing, editing, and proofreading various technical documents, ensuring they meet the needs of clients and support the health and well-being of vulnerable community members. You will collaborate with technical personnel and lead documentation projects while establishing style guidelines and providing guidance to less experienced team members.

Responsibilities

• Research, write, edit, and proofread complex technical data for manuals, procedures, and specifications.
• Determine the scope and timeline of new documentation projects and coordinate project plans.
• Interview programmers, engineers, and other technical personnel to gather complex technical information.
• Write, organize, and compile complex online help files to support end users.
• Create and deliver complex system/software developmental documentation packages from technical project team inputs.
• Assist in establishing style guidelines and standards for texts and illustrations.
• Provide leadership and work guidance to less experienced personnel.

Requirements

• Three or more years of technical writing experience.
• Experience with desktop publishing, word processing, and online documentation software.
• Familiarity with industry writing styles, grammar, sentence form, and structure.
• Experience working with company software products.
• Strong communication skills.
• Proficiency in personal computer and business solutions software.
• Strong proofreading and editing skills.
• Ability to convert technical knowledge into easily understood terms.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
