About the position

The Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering at Arizona State University (ASU) is seeking applicants for a tenure-track or tenured faculty position in the area of space robotics, controls, and autonomous systems. This role aims to enhance the university's capabilities in addressing grand challenges in space applications, particularly in fields such as propulsion, spacecraft guidance, and autonomous systems. The successful candidate will contribute to academic programs, promote transdisciplinary teaching and research, and develop a funded research program while engaging in effective teaching practices.

Responsibilities

  • Develop an internationally recognized and externally funded research program in space robotics and autonomous systems.
  • Adopt effective pedagogical practices in the development and delivery of graduate and undergraduate courses.
  • Advise both undergraduate and graduate student research and projects.
  • Engage in service activities within the university and the broader academic community.
  • Contribute to transdisciplinary teaching and research initiatives.

Requirements

  • Earned doctorate in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline by the time of appointment.
  • Evidence of excellence in research, commensurate with the candidate's rank.
  • Evidence of excellence in teaching, commensurate with the candidate's rank.
