About the position

SCAD Savannah is seeking a full-time professor of interactive experience and game development to educate and inspire students using advanced knowledge in emerging interfaces, creative technologies, and design frameworks. The role involves working with a team of esteemed colleagues to administer program curriculum and foster a positive community for aspiring game artists, utilizing leading-edge technology and facilities.

Responsibilities

• Instruct students in interactive experience and game development using advanced knowledge of AR/VR/IoT and creative technologies.
• Administer program curriculum and collaborate with colleagues to enhance the educational experience.
• Encourage innovation and process development in design while maintaining practical concepts of the design profession.
• Teach students about generative AI interactive experiences and the use of generative AI tools in design.
• Impart production insights from a professional environment and work with agile development methodologies.

Requirements

• Terminal degree in the discipline or a related field.
• Teaching experience at the collegiate level preferred.
• Experience in or knowledge of related professions.
• Academic and professional credentials to teach in the discipline.
• Proficiency in industry software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Figma, and ProtoPie!
• Familiarity with low code/no code tools for application development, such as bubble.io.
• Knowledge of web authoring languages including HTML, CSS, PHP, and some object-oriented programming.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with design frameworks beyond Human Centered Design, such as Universal Design, Systems Innovation, and Speculative Design.
• Experience with Unity for AR experiences and physical computing.
• Professional-level visual art and design production experience.
• University-level teaching experience and online coursework development.
