About the position

The University of Minnesota Medical School is seeking an experienced physician/scientist leader to establish a center for human precision neuroscience within the neurology department. This role involves developing a center that integrates image acquisition, image processing, and neuromodulation clinical trials to map the functional architecture of individual brains, aiming to enhance personalized neurotherapeutics. The position offers protected research time based on the candidate's interests and qualifications, and is tenured.

Responsibilities

• Develop a center for human precision neuroscience integrating image acquisition, image processing, and neuromodulation clinical trials.
• Conduct clinical trials in adult and pediatric patients to map the functional architecture of individual brains.
• Lead program-building efforts in the field of neuroscience.
• Secure and manage NIH funding and other research grants.

Requirements

• Medical Doctor (MD, DO, MD/PhD, or equivalent) with ABPN board certification in Neurology.
• Eligibility for medical licensure in Minnesota.
• Demonstrated clinical and research expertise in neuroscience appropriate for the academic rank of Associate Professor or Full Professor.

Nice-to-haves

• Proven program-building expertise in a leadership role.
• Current R01 funding or recent history of receiving NIH funding.
