About the position

As a Profit Center Manager at Green Art Plumbing Supply, you will be responsible for overseeing all business operations at the Profit Center, ensuring consistent profitability and operational excellence. This role requires a strong leader who can plan, direct, and lead the team to achieve sales, gross profit, and profit-sharing goals. You will be accountable for recruiting, developing, training, coaching, evaluating, and managing the Profit Center team, ensuring that each member is equipped to meet their sales targets and contribute to the overall success of the business. In this position, you will analyze financial reports and implement strategies to increase sales and margins while managing expenses and assets effectively. You will also be tasked with building relationships within the community to understand the marketplace better, increase market share, and identify new opportunities for growth. Your ability to interpret financial data will be crucial in determining the success or failure of business plans, allowing you to make informed decisions that drive profitability. The Profit Center operates like a small business, and as the manager, you will have the autonomy to make decisions that align with the unique needs of your local market. You will be expected to achieve upper quartile performance in key indicators such as Gross Profit %, Net Salaries Ratio, and Return on Investment, among others. Your leadership will inspire your team to deliver exceptional customer service and foster a positive work environment that encourages growth and satisfaction for both employees and customers.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, direct, and lead all business operations at the Profit Center.
  • Achieve sales, gross profit, and profit-sharing goals through effective team management.
  • Determine targeted customer account potential and establish sales goals for those accounts.
  • Hold salespeople accountable for achieving established sales goals.
  • Achieve upper quartile performance in key financial indicators.
  • Analyze financial reports and implement strategies to increase sales and margins.
  • Ensure the Profit Center meets or exceeds customer service expectations.
  • Build relationships in the community to understand the marketplace and identify new markets.

Requirements

  • College degree or equivalent industry experience.
  • Minimum 3+ years wholesale distribution experience.
  • Minimum 2+ years in management, wholesale distribution, or sales management preferred.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Product knowledge related to the specific Profit Center market preferred.
  • A proper and valid driver's license for the vehicle(s) being driven.
  • A driving record that meets the criteria for being an Authorized Driver.
