About the position

The Director of Patient Care Services (DPCS) is responsible for overseeing the overall direction of home health clinical services in a new home health service in Bakersfield. This role involves establishing, implementing, and evaluating goals and objectives for home health services to ensure quality standards are met and contribute to the organization's philosophy. The DPCS will coordinate patient services, guide clinical personnel, manage budgets, and ensure compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee all direct and indirect patient services provided by clinical organization personnel.
  • Provide guidance and counseling to coordinators, case managers, and Clinical Supervisors to improve home health care services.
  • Assist Clinical Supervisors in managing clinical teams and planning.
  • Provide direction to case managers and clinical teams related to patient care delivery.
  • Assist in assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient and family/caregiver care.
  • Assist the Executive Director in budget preparation and administration.
  • Interpret operational indicators to detect changes in census and volume.
  • Evaluate performance of Clinical Supervisors and/or case managers.
  • Conduct annual evaluations on clinicians and oversee maintenance of clinical records.
  • Develop and implement orientation programs for new personnel.
  • Plan and implement in-service and continuing education programs.
  • Assist with quality assurance and performance improvement evaluations.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws regarding home health services.

Requirements

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English.
  • CPR Certification.
  • Current RN License.
  • 3 years of supervisory experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field.
  • Knowledge of business management and governmental regulations.
