About the position

The Program Administrator for Climate and Sustainability will oversee various programmatic, administrative, operational, and co-curricular activities related to the Climate and Sustainability Initiative. This role involves collaboration with multiple university departments to plan and execute events, manage communications, and analyze data to enhance program effectiveness. The administrator will also be responsible for budget management and directing student employees or volunteers as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Manage programmatic, administrative, operational, and co-curricular activities for the Climate and Sustainability Initiative.
  • Collaborate with the Office of Sustainability, Office of Research Development, and other university units to plan and execute meetings and events.
  • Support the development, implementation, and monitoring of new programming.
  • Build connections with faculty, staff, and students to enhance program engagement.
  • Develop and maintain communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Oversee social media and website communications related to the initiative.
  • Maintain an updated schedule of events, activities, and programming.
  • Gather and analyze data to inform improvements to the initiative's programming and operational efficiencies.
  • Manage budgets for programming and direct student employees and/or volunteers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
  • 2+ years of experience administering academic or research programs and events, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills, including time management and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation delivery.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills to develop and sustain effective relationships with diverse constituencies.
  • Proficiency with standard office productivity software, including basic data manipulation and analysis.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Google Workplace, Adobe Creative Suite, web design using CMS, and basic graphic design.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in climate and sustainability fields, with knowledge of common issues and terminology.
  • Experience with fundraising and/or grant development.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary range of USD $72,000.00 to USD $88,000.00 based on experience and qualifications.
