About the position
The University of Massachusetts Lowell is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Chemical Engineering to conduct computational research focused on developing machine learning algorithms for enhancing multi-scale and multi-physics simulations in catalysis and material science. The role involves creating algorithms for various catalysis processes and non-toxic material discovery, while also mentoring students and assisting in scholarly writing.
Responsibilities
- Conduct computational research on machine learning algorithm development for catalysis and material science.
- Develop machine learning-based algorithms for plasma catalysis, electrocatalysis, and field-enhanced catalysis.
- Quantify local field strengths and predict energetics influenced by fields.
- Optimize catalysis and material synthesis processes.
- Assist in writing scholarly articles and proposals.
- Mentor students involved in research projects.
Requirements
- PhD in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience in computational research and machine learning techniques.
- Familiarity with graph neural networks, Gaussian processes, and graph convolutional networks.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a research team.
