About the position
The Program Advisory Specialist in Human Resources at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR) is responsible for providing advisory services related to civilian personnel management. This role supports the HR Division by participating in various personnel activities, preparing presentations, and utilizing HR information systems to enhance civilian personnel programs. The position plays a crucial role in ensuring compliance with human resources policies and regulations while supporting the Department of Defense's mission.
Responsibilities
- Provide civilian personnel management advisory services and assistance.
- Participate in civilian personnel activities including recruitment, awards, and incentives.
- Prepare PowerPoint presentations and Excel spreadsheets for the HR Division.
- Utilize various Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) to support civilian personnel programs.
- Serve as a liaison on matters related to civilian personnel management and policy interpretation.
Requirements
- One year of specialized experience in providing advisory services related to Federal civilian human resources.
- Experience using a Federal human resources information system (HRIS) such as DCPDS.
- Conducting analysis in support of Federal civilian personnel programs.
Nice-to-haves
- Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in relevant fields.
- 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree.
