About the position

The Program Analyst/Data Engineer position at HII's Mission Technologies division focuses on refining a centralized data environment (CDE) that impacts the Department of Defense (DoD). The role involves designing and documenting data relationships, analyzing system needs, and contributing to the development of auditable financial transaction data to support leadership decision-making. This position offers a hybrid work schedule, including telework options, and requires strong technical skills in Python and SQL.

Responsibilities

  • Designs, models, documents, and guides the logical and conceptual relationship of data and database changes for complex applications.
  • Analyzes needs and requirements of existing and proposed systems, and develops technical, structural, and organizational specifications.
  • May create standards and/or modeling to monitor and enhance capacity and performance.
  • Responsible for running daily standups.
  • Additional duties as assigned or required.

Requirements

  • 5 years relevant experience with a Bachelor's in a related field; 3 years relevant experience with a Master's in a related field; 0 years experience with a PhD or Juris Doctorate in a related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
  • Python experience.
  • Relational Database (SQL) experience.
  • Strong SQL skills for querying, managing, and optimizing relational databases.
  • Must possess and maintain a Secret clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Scrum Master Certification and/or experience running SCRUM.
  • Working knowledge of agile methodology, techniques, and frameworks (such as Scrum or Kanban) to deliver solutions.
  • Ability to understand the transactional nature of the data being reviewed.
  • Experience with FMS.
  • Security+ Certification.
