About the position

The Program Analyst at the Battle Creek VA Medical Center will work under the Veteran Experience Office, focusing on collecting, analyzing, and validating data related to patient experience. The role involves collaborating with various healthcare teams and leadership to improve veteran satisfaction and loyalty through data-driven insights and process improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, analyze, and validate data concerning patient experience.
  • Analyze trends and propose process improvements.
  • Ensure timely and accurate data related to patient satisfaction is maintained.
  • Provide informational needs and services to a broad range of customers including senior management and clinicians.
  • Advise staff on data management capabilities and limitations.
  • Maintain positive relationships with Veterans and families.
  • Prepare documentation for policies and correspondence without additional input from the supervisor.
  • Develop and implement new administrative processes.
  • Track VISN and Local suspense and collect data for timely responses.
  • Use various software packages to obtain statistical data from published reports.
  • Prepare data for service Chief's review.
  • Respond to customer requests for services and follow up to ensure quality of services provided.

Requirements

  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least GS-9 level in the normal line of progression for the occupation.
  • Experience applying customer service skills and analytical methods to clinical program issues.
  • Experience planning, organizing, and developing studies or projects.
  • Knowledge of complex healthcare system operations and pertinent laws and regulations.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of statistical principles and techniques for data analysis.
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Nice-to-haves

  • Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in a related field.
  • 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree.
