About the position

This position is located in the DEA, Office of Finance (FN)/Financial Management Division (FC). The primary purpose of this role is to coordinate fiscal and administrative support, financial management, policy and procedural guidance, and other support service activities. The position involves providing specialized financial management knowledge and skills to support various program areas, including the Administrative Support Services and Education Team (ASSET) and Fiscal Support Team (FST).

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to a group of employees engaged in financial management functions.
  • Plan duties and responsibilities covering program areas such as ASSET and FST.
  • Coordinate fiscal and administrative resource assignments with program offices and support teams.
  • Educate team members and new personnel on fiscal and administrative support functions.
  • Maintain DEA's administrative resource documentation and SharePoint intranet sites.
  • Identify feasibility and effectiveness of existing and proposed agency standards, regulations, programs, or policies related to financial management.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
  • Experience using federal financial management systems within the government.
  • Experience analyzing financial requests for approval or disapproval.
  • Experience assisting with financial materials such as manuals, memorandums, and directives.
  • Experience interpreting financial policies and regulatory requirements.

  • Experience drafting procedures for federal financial management systems.
  • Experience approving/disapproving financial requests from employees.
  • Experience writing financial materials such as manuals, memorandums, and directives.
