About the position

The Program and Budget Management Analyst plays a crucial role in ensuring that the Air Force and Space Force can effectively utilize their funding to create impactful changes. This position requires a financial analyst who is adept at navigating the complex requirements, policies, and regulations that govern funding allocation within the Department of Defense (DoD). As a Program and Budget Management Analyst, you will leverage your consulting, analytical, and management skills to work on projects specifically tailored for DoD cybersecurity clients. Your primary responsibility will be to analyze budget data and foster relationships with stakeholders to assist clients in managing resources across various DoD components. In this role, you will serve as a trusted advisor, tasked with identifying, analyzing, and evaluating intricate systems, policies, processes, and functions related to the Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) oversight of DoD Services and Agencies. Your expertise in laws, regulations, and policies will be instrumental in helping clients develop well-structured requirements. Once funding is secured, you will ensure its efficient use through diligent tracking and communication with project managers and team leads. This position offers a unique opportunity to engage in high-level projects while applying your financial analysis expertise to support the mission of the Air Force and Space Force.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze budget data and cultivate stakeholder relationships to aid clients in managing resources.
  • Identify, analyze, and evaluate complex systems, policies, processes, and functions related to PPBE oversight.
  • Assist clients in developing well-formed requirements based on knowledge of laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Ensure efficient use of funding through consistent tracking and communication with project managers and team leads.
  • Provide consulting and analytical expertise on projects for DoD cybersecurity clients.

Requirements

  • Experience with DoD programs and management processes.
  • Experience analyzing financial and other resource management data.
  • Experience with DoD Planning Guidance, including instructing business units on budget planning.
  • Knowledge of the Air Force unfunded requirements process.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity and cybersecurity programs.
  • Top Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with budget planning, justification, and prioritization.
  • Experience with DoD PPBE processes.
  • Knowledge of the DoD acquisition system.
  • Ability to balance multiple diverse workstreams and work collaboratively across teams.
