About the position

The Program & Communications Associate at Newton Community Pride (NCP) plays a vital role in supporting the organization's mission to foster community through arts and culture initiatives. This part-time position involves assisting with program planning, social media marketing, donor relations, and event coordination, contributing to the overall success of NCP's projects and communications efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with NCP programming, special events, and festivals, including occasional evening and weekend work.
  • Developing and executing a comprehensive social media marketing plan across all platforms, including creating on-brand graphics, videos, and slide shows.
  • Periodically updating NCP's online presence to ensure it is fresh and relevant.
  • Assisting with the production of biweekly e-newsletters.
  • Managing reporting and analytics for social channels and email communications.
  • Supporting the development, execution, and distribution of collateral and graphic pieces.
  • Assisting with NCP board and donor relations, including running board meeting technology, CRM management, and donor acknowledgement processing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Design, Marketing, or related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • One to two years of professional marketing communications experience, or strong internship experience, preferably in a nonprofit environment.
  • Strong technological skills and background; experience using and managing social media accounts, e-newsletter platforms, CRMs, and online ticketing platforms.
  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong verbal, written, and graphic communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Basic photography and videography skills preferred.
  • Interest in the arts strongly preferred.
