For more information, please view the 2024 Total Rewards Guide. Marquette University Law School seeks a part time Program Assistant/paralegal to support the Marquette Volunteer Legal Clinics (MVLC). The MVLC provides the community with free legal advice and referral services through volunteer attorneys and Marquette law students at clinic sites in the community and clinics operating remotely by Zoom. The successful candidate will exhibit superior organizational and communication skills, ability to navigate and work with technology as well as the ability to work in a friendly manner with a diverse constituency. Responsibilities

  • Facilitation of MVLC Clinics, being available on a weekly basis, September through June, to facilitate operations of MVLC clinics at various locations including one Wednesday evening clinic.
  • Act as a primary liaison for communications with all volunteers, coordinating scheduling of volunteer attorneys and law students using the volunteer database.
  • Ensure requests for services receive prompt and appropriate response and referral, maintaining proper records for all client contacts by phone, at remote clinics, and at in-person clinics.
  • Provide administrative support to the Office of Public Service assistant dean and director, maintaining clinic sites, including ordering supplies and providing computer and printer maintenance and support.
  • Ensure student employees are scheduled to perform their essential duties at all clinics and have the necessary training and support.

Requirements

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Administrative experience
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Bachelor's degree or Associate's degree
  • Basic computer hardware knowledge
  • Experience with SharePoint
  • Strong communication skills
