About the position
The Program Assistant/Activities Assistant role at Active Day is designed for individuals who are passionate about providing care and support to members in a vibrant and engaging environment. This position involves assisting with personal and medical care, facilitating recreational activities, and ensuring a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all members. Training is provided, making it accessible for those without prior experience.
Responsibilities
- Assisting members with activities, personal care, and some medical care.
- Planning and facilitating fun, creative, and diverse recreational programs to encourage member participation.
- Serving meals and assisting with meal-related tasks.
- Ensuring a loving and caring environment that brings joy to members.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred or a minimum of two (2) years relevant experience.
- At least 18 years of age.
- One-year full-time equivalent experience in a health care setting preferred.
- Prior experience working with seniors and/or adults with special needs preferred.
