About the position

The Program Assistant will support LISC San Antonio's initiatives in affordable housing, community-based economic development, and local policy advocacy. This role involves preparing and processing documentation for sub-grantees and contractors, tracking and reporting progress, and managing invoices. The Program Assistant will collaborate closely with LISC team members and report to the Senior Program Officer.

Responsibilities

  • Administering federal and local government pass-through grants, including preparing award documentation and processing invoices.
  • Administering privately funded grants to non-profit partners, including reviewing grant agreements and structuring sub-grant awards.
  • Serving as a point of contact for contractors, managing proposals, vendor profiles, and payment tracking.
  • Maintaining program records to ensure accuracy and up-to-date information.
  • Ordering office supplies and managing inventory.
  • Providing additional program support such as research, logistics, and assisting with trainings or events.
  • Participating in National LISC meetings and activities as required.
  • Supporting the Executive Director and other office staff as needed.
  • Performing all other duties as assigned, including potential evening and weekend work.

Requirements

  • Associate degree from an accredited college or university, or relevant work experience.
  • Minimum two years of experience in planning and coordinating activities and events; degree may substitute up to two years' experience.
  • Strong communication and relationship management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; comfortable learning new technology and software.
  • Ability to work simultaneously on multiple tasks and projects; solutions-oriented professional.
  • Interest in the community development sector and the role of nonprofit organizations in social change.
  • Mission-driven and passionate about LISC's work.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with grant administration and financial analysis.
  • Familiarity with community development and nonprofit sector.
