About the position

The Program Associate I, Hub Content Manager plays a crucial role in the District's Knowledge Management division, focusing on enhancing the District's intranet (Hubiverse). This position involves collaborating with cross-functional teams and students to create, manage, and improve content, ensuring it is accessible and engaging for all users. The Hub Content Manager will also provide technical assistance and support to content managers, aiming to streamline navigation and promote the reuse of materials across the District.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and adoption of Office 365 applications including Teams and Point for District departments and schools.
  • Manage a dynamic intranet for staff, based in Office 365, aligned with the District's knowledge management strategy.
  • Develop and implement a technical support plan for the intranet, resolving or escalating requests from department content managers and internal users.
  • Provide guidelines and support to content managers regarding information architecture, content strategy, and user experience design.
  • Conduct regular audits of the intranet to rectify issues related to accessibility, brand identity, quality, and governance.
  • Identify opportunities for integrating District- and school-level data, resources, and news for display on internal web pages.
  • Monitor and analyze web analytics to suggest improvements to the District's internal web presence.
  • Administer content manager permissions for the internal systems and intranet tools.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Director, Knowledge Management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Mass Communications, Journalism, User Experience Design, Computer Science, or related discipline.
  • Three (3) years of work experience designing and implementing websites or web applications.
  • Experience with information architecture and user experience design methodologies.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud applications, such as Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
  • Excellent oral, written, interpersonal, and presentation skills; demonstrated experience with technical writing is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of interface design and graphic design best practices.
  • Knowledge and understanding of accessibility and disabilities, with the ability to design against WCAG 2.1 heuristics.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with content management systems such as Point, Finalsite, or Blackboard.
