About the position

The Program Chair at Herzing University is responsible for overseeing the nursing program, ensuring it effectively prepares students for successful careers in nursing. This role involves mentoring faculty, collaborating on clinical experiences, and managing programmatic evaluations and improvements. The Program Chair will also engage in data collection, analysis, and reporting to enhance the program continuously.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the nursing program and ensure its effectiveness in preparing students for careers.
• Mentor and inspire faculty members.
• Collaborate with the team on clinical experiences and student opportunities.
• Lead programmatic management and evaluation efforts.
• Engage in data collection, analysis, and reporting for program improvement.
• Promote diversity and inclusion within the program.
• Utilize technology to enhance teaching and learning.
• Assess student learning outcomes.

Requirements

• An MSN with a PhD, DNP, or Doctorate in Education or related healthcare field.
• Adult Gerontology Primary Care or FNP Certification AND Adult Gerontology Acute Care Certification.
• Wisconsin or Compact RN license.
• Minimum of 2 years of online nursing education experience.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous program chair and teaching experience in a graduate nursing program.
• Experience with programmatic accreditation.
• Experience with Canvas as a learning management system.
