About the position

The Program Coordinator - Bowling, Billiards, and Esports will oversee the daily operations of the Student Center Bowling and Billiards Center and Esports Arena at Southern Illinois University - Carbondale. This role is crucial in ensuring that the facilities are well-maintained and that all equipment is functioning properly. The coordinator will be responsible for the mechanical maintenance of bowling equipment, billiards tables, and Esports equipment, ensuring that all items are in optimal condition for use by students and community members. In addition to maintenance duties, the Program Coordinator will train and supervise student staff, guiding them in their work performance and ensuring that they adhere to the operational standards of the facilities. The coordinator will also play a key role in planning and executing special programs within the Bowling and Billiards Center and Esports Arena, collaborating with various departments, student groups, and community partners to reserve space and organize events. This position requires flexibility, as the coordinator will be expected to work nights and weekends to accommodate the needs of the facilities and the events scheduled within them.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the Bowling and Billiards Center and Esports Arena.
  • Assist with maintenance of equipment, supplies, and materials.
  • Perform mechanical maintenance on bowling equipment, billiards tables, and Esports equipment.
  • Train and supervise student staff and evaluate their work performance.
  • Coordinate with departments, student groups, and community partners for reserving space.
  • Plan and execute special programs within the Bowling and Billiards Center and Esports Arena.
  • Work nights and weekends as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • One year of work experience in Esports, bowling, billiards, or recreation center.
  • Master's degree may substitute for one year of work experience.
  • Additional education, training, or work experience may be required based on position needs.
