About the position

Kennesaw State University is seeking a Program Coordinator to join our vibrant community dedicated to innovative teaching and learning. The Program Coordinator will play a crucial role in planning and implementing program initiatives for the assigned college, department, or unit. This position will involve generating program resources, developing communication strategies, and establishing operating goals and objectives. The Program Coordinator will serve as the primary point of contact for program implementation and operational matters, providing technical, professional, and programmatic guidance and support. In this role, the Program Coordinator will be responsible for developing, planning, and coordinating the execution of various programs, special projects, events, and initiatives that align with the overall mission and objectives of the assigned program or department. The individual will oversee the day-to-day operations of the assigned programs, ensuring that all activities are administered effectively. Additionally, the Program Coordinator will act as a liaison with internal and external clients, facilitating communication and collaboration on program-related activities. The successful candidate will assist in forecasting and budgeting for each fiscal year, evaluating progress towards financial goals, and may be responsible for managing the program or department's purchasing card. The Program Coordinator will also prepare and deliver presentations and materials for programs and events, coordinate the collection and analysis of program activity data, and prepare comprehensive reports and evaluation summaries. Social media presence and program outreach may also fall under the purview of this role, along with the potential to supervise or lead student assistants or staff.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, plans and coordinates the implementation and execution of programs, special projects, events and other initiatives designed to achieve the overall mission, goals, and objectives of the assigned program(s) and/or department(s)
  • Oversees and administers all facets and activities related to day-to-day operations of the assigned program(s) and/or departments
  • Serves as liaison with internal and external clients on all matters relating to program and/or department activities
  • Provides, administers and/or coordinates the provision of technical guidance, consultation, related support to clientele within area of program focus
  • Assists with forecast projections and budget for each fiscal year and evaluates progress towards financial goals and may be responsible for the program or department’s purchasing card (PCard)
  • Prepares and delivers presentations and collateral for program and/or department and events
  • Coordinates and administers the collection, compilation, and analysis of program activity data, prepares comprehensive program reports and evaluation summaries
  • May coordinate, administer and monitor social media presence and program outreach
  • May supervise and/or lead assigned staff and/or students assistants

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in related field
  • One (1) years of related work experience
  • Demonstrated professional knowledge and operational expertise within designated area of program focus
  • Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills
  • Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e. Microsoft Office suite)
  • Strong attention to detail and follow up skills
  • Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette

Nice-to-haves

  • An advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a related field
  • Previous experience with program development and coordination
