About the position

The Program Coordinator for the CPR Program at the Department of Justice is responsible for overseeing the training and certification of staff in cardiopulmonary response (CPR) and first aid. This role involves creating relevant policies, providing direct training, and mentoring instructors nationwide. The coordinator will assess program needs, design training programs, and manage budgets to ensure effective training delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the training and certification of all staff in CPR and first aid is actualized.
  • Serve as the BOP American Heart Association (AHA) Training Center Coordinator.
  • Train and certify a pool of CPR Instructors nationwide.
  • Monitor local classes and assess program needs.
  • Plan, design, execute, and evaluate training programs and projects, including budget development.
  • Cultivate and mentor current and new BOP instructors.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree for GS-11.
  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in federal service for GS-11 and GS-12.
  • Current certified American Heart Association (AHA) CPR/AED Instructor.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in developing and conducting training in CPR and AHA training requirements.
  • Experience in providing oversight for a CPR program and budget development.
