About the position

The DEC Program Coordinator at WestCare Tennessee plays a crucial role in promoting health and wellness services for youth and families in the Cocke County community. This position involves coordinating outreach, education, and program activities under the guidance of the Area Director, while also serving as a representative of the DEC program at community events. The coordinator is responsible for building relationships with community partners, ensuring compliance with grant protocols, and maintaining effective communication with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate program activities, outreach, and education/training for the DEC program in Cocke County.
  • Represent WestCare Tennessee at community events and meetings.
  • Communicate consistently with coalition members and partner agencies.
  • Create Public Service Announcements (PSAs) and media campaigns for the DEC program.
  • Recruit and maintain members for the DEC Response Team.
  • Coordinate monthly program activities and trainings with program partners.
  • Implement grant protocols to ensure service quality and compliance.
  • Develop positive relationships with community partners including schools and law enforcement.
  • Act as a point of contact for youth and families involved in child endangerment.
  • Gather data for grant reports and input into the state tracking system.
  • Collaborate with leadership to seek additional funding opportunities.
  • Audit program materials and supplies within budget.
  • Promote and meet DEC requirements with WestCare team members.
  • Complete required eLearning and DEC trainings.
  • Embody the mission and goals of WestCare Tennessee.

Requirements

  • Valid driver's license is required.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Graduation from an accredited two-year or four-year college/university in a related field is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience may substitute for a degree.
  • Basic knowledge of behavioral health, social services, or law enforcement.
  • Excellent communication skills, including public speaking and group facilitation.
  • Experience in outreach and marketing.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Adherence to ethical conduct and confidentiality standards.
  • Cultural and linguistic sensitivity to populations served.
  • Experience with data tracking systems.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365.
