About the position

The Program Coordinator for Catholic Charities of Los Angeles, Inc. plays a crucial role in the AYE program, which provides job training, educational, and career services to over 2,500 youth and adults annually. This position is responsible for ensuring that all program activities align with the strategic plan and goals of the organization. The Program Coordinator will oversee daily operations, including direct services, administration, and record-keeping, while also providing case management to participants and identifying employment opportunities. The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders, including community organizations and employers. In addition to managing the program's daily functions, the Program Coordinator will supervise and train assigned staff, prepare monthly reports and statistics, and ensure that the program meets its performance goals. The coordinator will also represent the program at agency and community meetings, clarifying and implementing policies for staff, and reviewing individual Service Strategies for clients. This position is vital in evaluating and monitoring training site compliance with relevant laws and regulations, ensuring that the program operates within the established guidelines. The Program Coordinator will also be responsible for preparing annual budgets and program narratives, which are essential for securing funding and resources for the program. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in workforce development, excellent communication and organizational skills, and a commitment to helping participants overcome barriers to employment and achieve their career goals.

Responsibilities

  • Supervised daily operations, including direct services, administration, and record keeping.
  • Supervise, assign, instruct, train, and may evaluate assigned staff.
  • Prepares monthly program reports and statistics.
  • Provide case management to assigned caseload.
  • Resolves problems encountered by program and staff.
  • Prepares budgets and program narratives annually.
  • Must meet monthly performance goals.
  • Provide employment opportunities for participants to identify barriers and develop strategies to accomplish goals.
  • Represents program at various agency and community meetings.
  • Clarifies and implements policies for staff.
  • Reviews all individual Service Strategy for each client and provides them with career and vocational counseling designed to promote long-term employability.
  • Evaluates and monitors training site compliance with Employment and training agreement and applicable Federal, State and local government sponsor laws, regulations and requirements on a regular basis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related field.
  • One to three years of related experience.
  • Experience with workforce development preferred.
  • Experience with developing vocational skills.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
