About the position

The Program Coordinator position at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering in The Grainger College of Engineering is responsible for coordinating activities for the Grainger Center for Electric Machinery and Electromechanics (CEME) and providing administrative support to the Director. This role involves managing various center activities, maintaining records, overseeing outreach efforts, and assisting with proposal submissions and reporting to funding agencies.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate regular and annual CEME activities including reports and seminar announcements.
  • Maintain official records of the CEME as required by the University and Department.
  • Provide administrative leadership for workshops and conferences conducted by the CEME.
  • Manage the Director's calendar and arrange meetings, keeping the Director informed of deadlines.
  • Assist the Director with public service activities and track submission dates for conferences.
  • Provide day-to-day administrative functions for the CEME, including billing and purchasing.
  • Work with campus units to identify sources for proposal submissions and assist in writing proposals.
  • Confirm fund administration and prepare reports for funding agencies.
  • Coordinate center scale activities including reports and seminar arrangements.
  • Assist with editorial, writing, proofing, and design for CEME publications and website.
  • Supervise student office workers and help train administrative professionals.
  • Maintain databases related to student, faculty, and CEME records.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, management, marketing, economics, business administration, technical writing, or closely related field.
  • Four years of experience in supervising, organizing, editorial or writing, coordinating or performing business activities.
  • Demonstrated experience with LaTEX and related design tools.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe tools.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of university rules and policies.
  • Familiarity with IEEE technical publication requirements.
  • Basic knowledge of scientific communication in research.
