About the position

The Program Coordinator serves as a vital member of the Program Team of PeerForward, focusing on the implementation of the High School program in Hawaii. This role is essential in providing support for 5 to 8 Peer Leader teams and school partners, ensuring high-quality event management and the effective delivery of PeerForward's programs and services. The Program Coordinator will work under the supervision of the Director of Strategic Partnerships and will be responsible for supporting Peer Leader teams across multiple high schools located on Oahu and The Big Island. In this position, the Program Coordinator will co-manage a caseload of high schools, collaborating closely with the Director to drive initiatives that encourage students to engage in actions that promote post-secondary awareness, enrollment, and persistence. The role requires optimal utilization of the PeerForward Method, technology, and tools to enhance program effectiveness. Additionally, the Program Coordinator will provide logistical and event management support, coordinating trainings and monthly meetings to ensure smooth operations. Building and maintaining positive relationships with school, district, and community partners in Hawaii is crucial for the success of the program. The Program Coordinator will also manage local logistical needs for events, including catering, venue selection, and invitations, while serving as the logistics liaison. This role involves recruiting local workshop staff, volunteers, and alumni to support program activities. The Coordinator will be responsible for researching and maintaining strategic information about school partners, sharing critical insights with the Directors of Program and Strategic Partnerships to support the overall growth strategy. Furthermore, the Program Coordinator will work with Program Directors to ensure that contracts and related paperwork are completed in compliance with internal processes and external partner requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Co-manage a caseload of up to 5-8 high schools for effective programmatic implementation.
  • Drive initiatives to increase student actions that promote post-secondary awareness, enrollment, and persistence.
  • Ensure optimal utilization of the PeerForward Method, technology, and tools.
  • Provide logistical and event management support for trainings and monthly meetings.
  • Build and sustain positive working relationships with school, district, and community partners in Hawaii.
  • Manage local logistical needs for events, including catering, securing venues, and invitations.
  • Support the program team in recruiting local workshop staff, volunteers, and alumni.
  • Research and maintain strategic information about school partners and share insights with Directors.
  • Work with Program Directors to ensure compliance with contracts and related paperwork.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Detail-oriented self-starter and team player.
  • Organized and capable of managing multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Positive rapport with students; youth facilitation skills a plus.
  • Some knowledge and/or interest in working within the local/national college access community.
  • Strong time management, task execution, organizational, interpersonal, presentation, and writing skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in an innovative and entrepreneurial work environment.
  • Willingness and ability to travel monthly between Oahu and The Big Island.
  • Enthusiasm for PeerForward's mission of helping low-income students enroll and persist in college.
