About the position

The Human Services Program Planning Administrator at the Maryland Department of Human Services (DHS) plays a crucial role in managing Emergency Food Programs and Special Projects. This position involves writing scopes of work, evaluating grant applications, and developing Request for Proposal documents. The administrator will work closely with various DHS units and state agencies to enhance collaboration and innovation in service delivery, ensuring high-quality support for the community.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Emergency Food Program and Special Projects (EFP/SP) contracts.
  • Support Local Departments of Social Services (LDSS) in program implementation.
  • Conduct monitoring visits to ensure compliance with approved plans and policies.
  • Ensure timely submission of monitoring reports to FIA vendors and LDSS.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Five years of experience in the administration of a human services program or conducting studies and analyses of programs, procedures, practices, and organizations.
  • One year of experience in preparing and managing contracts and working with procurement.

Nice-to-haves

  • One year of experience tracking deadlines, managing databases, scheduling meetings, compiling agendas, and recording minutes.
  • One year of experience in drafting and reviewing complex documents.
  • One year of experience in assisting with the development of policies, programs, and standard operating procedures.
  • One year of experience in using Microsoft and Google platform tools.
