About the position

The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, is seeking a Program Coordinator I for the Boys and Girls Club, located in Tulsa, Oklahoma. This position is responsible for coordinating the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of specific programs for youth aged 6 to 18 within the designated Club. The Program Coordinator will plan activities and facilitate programs in various areas such as STEM, STEAM, Art, Sports/Athletics, Aquatics, and Education. The role also includes writing program reports, supervising youth, and transporting them in Club vehicles. A key aspect of this position is to build and maintain professional relationships with all Club members and their families to help advance the mission of The Salvation Army. The Program Coordinator will be expected to present a positive and professional image of The Salvation Army and possess knowledge of child behavior and development principles, early childhood curriculum development, and First Aid and CPR practices. The ability to teach children Christian values alongside general early childhood education curriculum is essential. The coordinator will also need to plan, develop, and implement effective childhood programs and activities, ensuring the safety and well-being of all participants. This role requires a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in business, accounting, or social services, along with two years of progressively responsible experience in program management, administration, and operation of a Boys & Girls Club, or three years of experience in a similar youth-serving organization. Certifications such as a valid State Driver's License (CDL preferred), First Aid and CPR Certification (or the ability to obtain), and BGCA Learning Coach Certification (or the ability to obtain) are also required.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of specific programs for youth aged 6 to 18.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in business, accounting, or social services.
