The coordinator will also be responsible for counseling students and families on financial aid options and eligibility, while actively participating in outreach and literacy initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Perform technically demanding financial aid duties, including reviewing and validating federal verification and professional judgment documents.
  • Oversee advisement and outreach to ensure timely completion of verification and professional judgment processes to prevent loss of financial aid resources.
  • Utilize incomplete verification and professional judgment reports to identify students needing assistance and engage with them through various communication channels.
  • Conduct quarterly presentations and workshops to assist students with documentation submissions via the student portal.
  • Collaborate with the verification team to understand follow-up requirements and advise students accordingly.
  • Counsel students and families on application procedures, availability, and eligibility for financial aid resources.
  • Resolve problems concerning financial aid that involve other university departments and external agencies.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for initial inquiries from various platforms including Salesforce and the Office of Financial Aid's front counter.
  • Coordinate the inflow and outflow of financial aid information and facilitate communication with appropriate departments.
  • Advise prospective and current students on financial aid matters.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least two years of work experience in student financial aid related to award and aid determination, need analysis, verification, and packaging.
  • Experience in a higher education or university setting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
