About the position

The Program Coordinator II for the School of Public & Allied Health at Prairie View A&M University is a part-time position that plays a vital role in various essential functions, including fundraising, event coordination, and leading capital campaigning efforts. This position is crucial for enhancing the mission and impact of the organization by actively assisting faculty and the school in securing grant funding opportunities. The role is funded by a grant or restricted funds, and continued employment is contingent upon the renewal of this funding. The salary for this position may exceed the proposed minimum based on the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate. In this role, the Program Coordinator will be responsible for building out funding through capital campaigning for the School of Public & Allied Health. This includes researching and proposing innovative tools, processes, techniques, strategies, knowledge, and technology to improve the program. The coordinator will also assist in developing fundraising curricula and maintain membership in national career organizations to support ongoing research. Establishing and maintaining positive relationships with external entities such as alumni, professional organizations, industry partners, and potential employers is essential. The Program Coordinator will coordinate with industry partners to promote internships, externships, and full-time job opportunities for students. Additionally, the coordinator will support the mission of the School of Public & Allied Health by participating in and planning workshops, major events, walk-in advising sessions, committee work, and weekly meetings. Other duties may be assigned as necessary to support the overall goals of the school.

Responsibilities

  • Build-out funding by way of capital campaigning for the School of Public & Allied Health.
  • Research and propose new tools, processes, techniques, strategies, knowledge, and technology for the program.
  • Assist with fundraising curriculum development.
  • Sustain membership in national career organizations for further research.
  • Maintain positive rapport with external entities such as alumni, professional organizations, industry partners, and other potential employers.
  • Coordinate and work with industry partners to advertise internships, externships, and full-time jobs to students.
  • Support the mission of the School of Public & Allied Health by participating and planning general workshops, big events, walk-in advising, committee work, and weekly meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Four years of related experience.
  • Knowledge of word processing/database/spreadsheet/publisher software.
  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
