About the position

Aims Community College is seeking a dedicated and organized individual for the position of Program Coordinator II in the Welding department. This role is pivotal in supporting the Welding program through various functions including enrollment management, student program navigation, community outreach, and marketing. The Program Coordinator will serve as a liaison with industry partners, ensuring that the program meets the needs of both students and the community. The position requires a proactive approach to managing program marketing and related materials within defined budgetary constraints, as well as overseeing the enrollment process for prospective students. This includes providing guidance for incoming students, managing waitlists, and facilitating registration processes. In addition to enrollment management, the Program Coordinator will play a crucial role in student success management. This involves assisting current students with schedule setting, graduation applications, and navigating internal processes. The Coordinator will also act as a liaison for scholarships and will be the department contact for concurrent enrollment and career academy initiatives. Community outreach and marketing are essential components of this role, with responsibilities including organizing internal marketing events, participating in external recruiting efforts, and managing the department's social media accounts to promote student, faculty, and staff achievements. The Program Coordinator will also coordinate with industry partners for on-campus visits and hiring events, facilitating work-based learning opportunities for students. This role requires strong communication skills, the ability to prioritize multiple inquiries, and a commitment to providing excellent customer service. The selected candidate will be expected to perform professionally and represent the college positively in all interactions.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Welding program with enrollment management and student program navigation.
  • Process enrollment for prospective students and provide program guidance for incoming students.
  • Manage waitlists, registration overrides, and scheduling for incoming students.
  • Assist current students with schedule setting and graduation applications for certificates and AAS degrees.
  • Act as a liaison for scholarships and coordinate with concurrent enrollment and career academy initiatives.
  • Organize internal marketing events and participate in external recruiting efforts at high schools and job fairs.
  • Manage the department's social media accounts and marketing initiatives.
  • Coordinate with industry partners for on-campus visits and hiring events.
  • Facilitate work-based learning opportunities and provide employment support for graduating students.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Public Relations, Construction Management, CAD, Welding Technology, Marketing, Communications, Education Advising, Automotive, Machining, or related degree in a skilled trades pathway.
  • Three (3) years of related experience in skilled trades, marketing, management roles, advising, education, or public relations, or an equivalent combination of education and/or work experience.
  • Demonstrated good customer service skills and the ability to communicate clearly and concisely with multiple departments and contacts.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple inquiries from industry partners, partnering high schools, and students.
