About the position

The Program Coordinator (PC) at Dungarvin serves as the lead Direct Support Professional (DSP) for a residential group home program, playing a crucial role in providing direct support and hands-on instruction to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). This position is centered around ensuring the health, safety, and successful achievement of service objectives and personal goals for the residents. The Program Coordinator is responsible for creating a nurturing environment that promotes independence and self-care among the residents, while also maintaining a safe and healthy living space. In this role, the Program Coordinator will engage in various activities that enrich the lives of the residents. This includes providing companionship and personalized care, assisting with daily living activities such as dressing, bathing, grooming, toileting, and eating. The Program Coordinator will also be involved in meal preparation, which may include grocery shopping, as well as performing light housekeeping and laundry duties. Transportation assistance is another key responsibility, which may involve using mechanical lift devices for mobility and transfer assistance. Additionally, the Program Coordinator will handle administrative duties, including assisting with schedules, documentation, and follow-up on individual and program-related issues. Ensuring compliance with policies and Oregon Administrative Rules is essential, as is providing one-on-one training for staff members. This position is not supervisory; the Program Coordinator reports directly to the Program Director, focusing on delivering high-quality care and support to the residents.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience working with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities required.
  • Prior experience in residential services preferred.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Reliable transportation with ability to use personal vehicle on the job.
  • Have a passion to help others.
  • People-oriented and have a team approach.
  • Dependable, adaptable, flexible.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Must be able to provide references.
  • Able to attend two weeks of PAID in-house orientation and training.
