About the position

The Program Coordinator for Nursing Administration at MD Anderson Cancer Center is responsible for managing projects and activities within the Division of Nursing, focusing on both clinical and non-clinical areas. This role involves budget preparation, cost control, and collaboration with various clinical partners to ensure efficient operations. The coordinator will oversee asset management, emergency preparedness, and the administration of supplies and equipment, while also participating in strategic planning and recruitment efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Manage projects and activities associated with the Division of Nursing inpatient clinical and non-clinical areas.
  • Assist in preparing, justifying, and administering annual operating and capital budgets.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for cost reduction and expense control.
  • Manage the division's bed fleet and processes related to bed maintenance, repairs, storage, and movement.
  • Collaborate with clinical partners such as Clinical Engineering, Materials Management, and Nursing leadership.
  • Oversee the division's capital assets and complete annual inventory scanning and validation of equipment.
  • Manage minor equipment needs for the Division of Nursing.
  • Responsible for the Division of Nursing's emergency preparedness, planning, and management process.
  • Manage divisional processes for supplies and equipment orders.
  • Review and approve all equipment and supplies requisitions and purchase order requests through PeopleSoft.
  • Coordinate and lead Administrative Coordinator team staff meetings.
  • Manage day-to-day operations of supplies, equipment, ordering, contract administration, and vendor relations.
  • Participate in strategic planning with the Administrative Director and Executive Director.
  • Develop newsletters and manage the Division of Nursing website in collaboration with the eLearning team.
  • Coordinate recruitment and participate in the interview process for hiring administrative coordinators.
  • Serve as the Division of Nursing's Property Officer and oversee asset management processes.
  • Revise and maintain the emergency preparedness plan and environmental and safety manual for the division.
  • Communicate project status effectively to all involved parties.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field.
  • Three years of project/program coordination experience.
  • May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one-to-one basis.
  • With a preferred Master's degree, one year of required experience.
