About the position

The Program Coordinator of Sports and Youth Programs at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) is responsible for the administration and supervision of comprehensive sports and youth programs, including club sports, intramural sports, and youth activities. This role aims to enhance wellness, leadership development, and community connection through structured sports and events. The coordinator will assist in developing, implementing, and assessing program objectives, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with safety and risk management guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design, implementation, and evaluation of sports and youth recreation programs.
  • Develop and schedule annual/semester intramural sports and youth program schedules.
  • Administer and maintain recreational management software for program management.
  • Collaborate with campus partners to enhance sports and youth programming.
  • Design and evaluate an Intramural Sports Program with diverse activities.
  • Coordinate the administration and advising of the Club Sport Program.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of youth programs such as camps and birthday parties.
  • Recruit, hire, train, and supervise student employees.
  • Manage and maintain program budgets and financial reporting.
  • Maintain emergency policies and procedures for sports and youth programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Recreation Administration, Sport Management, or related field.
  • Professional experience in administration and evaluation of sports or youth programs.
  • Experience in sport league and event management.
  • Supervisory experience in training and evaluating employees.
  • Certification in CPR with AED and First Aid required within 90 days of hire.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience in financial management and budget development.
  • Experience with online data management systems for sports activities.
  • Certified officiating experience in a high school or collegiate setting.
