About the position

The Program Coordinator of Student Engagement supports the Director of Student Engagement by creating and implementing leadership development opportunities, and contributing to departmental events, goals and initiatives. This position is governed by APA and requires 37.5 hours of work per week.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and facilitate leadership development opportunities and programs for current and future student leaders.
  • Coordinate the Student Leadership Employment Process.
  • Meet with Hiring Managers included in the process to discuss timeline, any changes, goals, etc.
  • Oversee application management to ensure all students are fulfilling the requirements of interviewing for the positions they've applied for.
  • Coordinate and facilitate Group Interviews with relevant hiring managers.
  • Manage the Hiring Manager selection meeting to ensure the highest number of eligible students receive leadership employment opportunities.
  • Coordinate the Student Leadership Awards process and ceremony.
  • Assist in the implementation of New Student & Family Orientation and transition programs.
  • Assist in the hiring, training and co-supervision of the Orientation Primers.
  • Coordinate Civic Engagement efforts, including Constitution Day and MassArt Votes voter education programs.
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of Student Engagement programs such as the Resource Fair, Involvement Fair, and Late Night Breakfast.
  • Assist in marketing programs and events sponsored by the Colleges of the Fenway consortium, and the ProArts consortium.
  • Assist Director and Student Development staff in supporting major university programs.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • 1-3 years working in a Higher Education setting.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to take initiative, and work independently and creatively.
  • Computer literacy and experience with word processing, spreadsheets, databases, data analysis.
  • Strong fiscal management skills.
  • Experience working closely with students from diverse backgrounds in a higher education setting.
  • Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with students, staff, and faculty to develop and implement programs and events for undergraduate college students.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree in Higher Education Administration, College Counseling or related field.
  • Experience supervising student employees, and advising student leaders.
  • Spanish speaking and/or multilingual.
