About the position

The Program Coordinator for Girl Scouts of West Central Florida is responsible for creating and delivering programs for assigned troops/groups, particularly in underserved areas. This role involves serving as a mentor and role model for girls in grades K-12, providing in-school, after-school, and summer programs. The position requires effective communication in both English and Spanish, and involves working directly with girls during weekdays and occasional weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Create and deliver Girl Scout programs for assigned troops/groups.
  • Act as Troop Leader where adult volunteers are unavailable.
  • Collaborate with Community Manager and volunteers to organize recruitment events.
  • Plan and execute ceremonies for girls in all troops.
  • Assist in planning enrichment and encampment trips for girls.
  • Maintain communication with staff, volunteers, and parents.
  • Ensure all girls are registered with GSUSA and collect registration documentation.
  • Recruit and support adult volunteers for troops.
  • Perform special assignments as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Experience in youth development or related coursework.
  • Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 lbs occasionally, 20 lbs frequently, and 10 lbs constantly.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
  • Engaging verbal and written communication skills.
  • Reliable transportation with required insurance and safe driving record.

Nice-to-haves

  • Fluency in Spanish is preferred.
  • Experience in organizing community events.
