About the position

The Oregon Department of Justice is seeking a Program Coordinator (Project Manager 2) for the IT Modernization Project. This role involves managing program governance, quality assurance, and communications to ensure effective implementation of information technologies that support the Program's mission and goals. The position is limited duration through June 30, 2025, with potential for extension based on future funding. The ideal candidate will work closely with Program and Project Managers to coordinate complex technology projects, ensuring adherence to defined processes and effective communication with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Manage program governance, quality assurance, and communications for the IT Modernization Project.
  • Develop and use project controls to communicate project status, issues, and risks.
  • Coordinate complex projects from design to implementation in partnership with other Program Project Managers.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers on business requirements, scope management, and risk identification.
  • Monitor progress of work assignments against the project schedule and revise as necessary.
  • Exercise effective project change control for any changes to project scope, schedule, and cost.
  • Prepare written documentation on various aspects of assigned projects and maintain project master files.
  • Promote a collaborative environment and function as a liaison between Project and Program Teams.

Requirements

  • Five years of progressively responsible experience related to project management.
  • OR four years of experience and an Oregon Project Management Associate Certification.
  • OR two years of experience and a Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • OR a Project Management Professional Certification from the Project Management Institute.
  • Finalists must pass a comprehensive employment reference check and fingerprint-based criminal background check.

Nice-to-haves

  • Enterprise level technology support processes and procedures.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM).
  • Effective presenter and communicator at all organizational levels.
  • Experience in Microsoft Project or similar scheduling tools.
  • Experience in Azure DevOps or Jira.
  • Familiarity with Agile practices or hybrid models of project management.
