About the position

As the Program Coordinator for Residential Treatment Services at Four Oaks Family and Children's Services, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Program Manager in the effective operation of the site. This full-time position focuses on providing operational and leadership support, ensuring that the program runs smoothly and effectively. Your primary responsibilities will include supervising, coaching, and mentoring staff in best practices and behavioral management techniques. You will be instrumental in fostering a positive and productive environment for both staff and clients, ensuring that the needs of the children in care are met with compassion and professionalism. In this role, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive training to new employees, serving as a mentor, and observing staff-client interactions to identify areas for improvement. You will oversee the daily schedule, ensuring that staff adhere to it and that clients are transitioned appropriately. Your ability to communicate effectively with the Program Manager regarding staff performance, client progress, and any concerns will be essential. You will also participate actively in team meetings to review case progress and contribute to the development of best programming solutions. Direct care responsibilities will include understanding the individualized treatment plans for clients and providing consistent reinforcement of positive behaviors. You will utilize proactive methods to prevent issues from escalating and employ behavior management techniques to assist clients in developing appropriate behaviors. Your role will also involve helping clients gain insight into their behaviors, promoting self-identification and self-correction. This position requires a strong commitment to the well-being of the clients and the ability to lead by example, demonstrating the values and practices that are essential to the program's success.

Responsibilities

  • Provide operational and leadership support to the Program Manager.
  • Supervise, coach, and mentor staff in best practices and behavioral management techniques.
  • Provide comprehensive training to all new employees in the program.
  • Serve as a mentor for all staff members by exhibiting best practices.
  • Observe staff-client interactions for coaching and training purposes.
  • Oversee daily schedule and ensure staff adherence to it.
  • Initiate and implement scheduling changes as needed.
  • Provide regular feedback to staff on opportunities for improvement.
  • Communicate with the Program Manager regarding concerns and progress.
  • Assist the Program Manager with scheduling, interviewing, and problem resolution.
  • Participate in team meetings to review case progress and provide programming solutions.
  • Know the population and be aware of individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide consistent reinforcement to client behavior using daily issues to teach adaptive behaviors.
  • Utilize proactive methods to intercept problems before they escalate.
  • Employ behavior management techniques to assist clients in developing appropriate behaviors.
  • Help clients develop insight into their behaviors for self-identification and self-correction.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor's degree in a Human Services related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience working with children in a mental health setting required.
  • Previous leadership experience preferred.
  • Ability to establish and maintain appropriate boundaries with clients and staff.
  • Capacity to react and de-escalate issues in a calm manner.
  • Demonstrate reliable and consistent actions and behaviors.
  • Ability to provide constructive feedback and develop trust-based relationships.
  • Ability to express passion and commitment to the program.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in a Human Services related field of study.
  • Previous leadership experience.
