About the position

The Program Coordinator for the School of Landscape Architecture and Planning (CAPLA) at the University of Arizona is responsible for planning, managing, implementing, and overseeing processes related to the daily operations and long-term initiatives of the school. This role involves enhancing operational efficiency, supporting academic programs, managing course schedules, and maintaining student and alumni records. The coordinator acts as a liaison with various stakeholders and ensures that all departmental operations run smoothly while providing guidance to faculty and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, manage, implement, and oversee daily operations and long-term initiatives of the School of Landscape Architecture and Planning.
  • Support the addition of new academic degree programs and coordinate efforts with school staff and advisors.
  • Provide coordination support for academic accreditation reports and maintain records of curricular changes.
  • Manage the schedule of classes for graduate and undergraduate programs, ensuring accuracy in curriculum and course information.
  • Track award cycles and coordinate the awards process, including evaluating eligibility and submitting final awards.
  • Maintain and update internal student and alumni records and directories.
  • Act as a liaison with local professional organizations regarding events and internship opportunities.
  • Manage the distribution of internship opportunities to students in school programs.
  • Monitor master's program applicants and coordinate communication regarding offers and responses.
  • Work with marketing and communications staff to create school-specific content for various platforms.
  • Manage schedules and communications for events such as lecture series and faculty candidate visits.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through experience required.
  • 1 year of relevant work experience required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Three (3) or more years' professional experience in higher education.
  • Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience with UAccess systems.
  • Experience managing academic programs.
  • Experience in course scheduling and management.
  • Experience in awards and recognition processes.
  • Experience maintaining records and databases.
